Rose’s Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

December 10th, 2015

We had such a fun time having a Thanksgiving feast with Rose at her preschool! You could tell she was so proud to be sitting in between us all by herself, and we were so happy to be there with her! Rose is such a fun kid. She is equal parts crazy and kind, outgoing and reserved. Rose Avery is super special, and I’m glad she felt that way today!

Rose has had a blast going to school with her friends Lucy and Harper this year!

We had the best lunch with our sweet baby blossom! Oh, the students got to write three things they are thankful for on the feathers of their hat. Rose’s said, “I am thankful for my family, my school, my whole world.” So perfect!

Harper’s dad, Trent, is the best coach ever! We are so lucky to have him. He loves the game and cares about our girls so much! Cheers to a great first season, Ladybugs!

Anna Kate was so excited to have a speaking part in her school musical this year, and she did a great job with it! We were so proud of her!

Cheer Competition

December 3rd, 2015

IMG_6229

Anna Kate had an awesome cheer season! Her team, the Tigers, won 1st place in the cheer division and 1st place with their dance. They practiced two days a week since August, and all of their hard work paid off!

IMG_6250

Noelle and Rose were so proud of their sister. I just love watching this little sisterhood blossom! They are so lucky to have each other!

Here are a few pictures from their cheer Mike took from the stands.

Anna Kate has never taken tumbling or gymnastics, but she got her cart wheel down. Something crazy we realized, she turns her cart wheels with her left foot! I’ve been helping her with her back bend kick-over this season, and I used to make her kick over with her right foot. She was having so much trouble, but when I realized she tumbles with her left foot, I started helping her kick over with her left foot first, and she’s got it. She’s tirelessly practicing her roundoff and is determined she will learn a back hand spring sooner than later. Baby girl is 6, but she’s determined to get this tumbling thing down. She loves it, so we practice every day.

Rose Goes to East Texas!

Rose with Poppa and Rara on the Neches

While the rest of the family was at the Taylor Swift concert, Rose got to take a special trip to Poppa and Rara’s house all by herself for the weekend! She was so excited the weeks leading up to her trip, she couldn’t think about anything else.

Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour Dallas Concert

December 1st, 2015

IMG_4617

We had such a great time at the Taylor Swift concert on October 17th!

IMG_7503 IMG_7506

We were first in line at our entrance with the “proper fans.” I think we got there at 2:00PM.

IMG_7495 IMG_7508

Meeting Jordan and Laurel was icing on the cake. These two cuties had no idea how exciting their night was going to get!

Waiting in line at the Taylor Nation booth!

Jordan's Taylor Swift drawing IMG_4624

Jordan and Noelle showing off their art. Jordan drew this picture of Taylor and later that night, Taylor Swift herself signed it and said, “Did you draw this?! Wow, it actually looks like me. Your shading is exemplary.” Go Jordan! What a dream come true!

IMG_0289 IMG_7585

Here we are waiting in line with lots of friends we met on Tumblr! Cardboard Olivia couldn’t have been cuter! Winking smile

IMG_0321

Meredith did not disappoint, although meeting the real Meredith would have been much more dramatic, I’m sure!

IMG_0306 IMG_7513

We had fun at the Taylor Nation booth holding up bandaged thumbs with the number 13 on them. That’s Taylor’s lucky number, and it was my Uncle Joe’s as well, so I know it’s a good lucky number to have!

IMG_0332

Finally got to our seats with all our glow-in-the-dark get-up ready for concert time! You can still see one of the bracelets taped onto one of our chairs they gave to every audience member. These bracelets glowed in the dark and changed colors and beats to the music of each song. The audience was making the coolest patterns, colors, rhythms and beats all night with the bracelets they gave us. That was really cool to watch and be a part of!

IMG_7580 IMG_4626

Getting to see Victoria and Noel, who were both at our wedding as kids almost 13 years ago, was so special! And we told the girls that we are having a baby tonight, which was such a fun memory!

IMG_7446

Noelle made this sign for Taylor’s mom all by herself. When I was putting the lights on our shirts one night getting ready for the concert, she asked if she could make something for Mrs. Swift. After we gave it to Kevin, who is one of Taylor’s top employees and friends, he promised to give it to Mama Swift and Noelle started crying. I asked her why she was crying and she said, “Because I’m just so happy. I hope it makes her feel a little better.” She’s the sweetest sweetheart there is. I’m sad Noelle didn’t get to tell her in person, as she was there and visited with several of our friends, but it just wasn’t in the cards this time.

IMG_0348 IMG_7667

Last but not least, we ran into Missy at the end of the night! And while we were busy catching up with her, our friends Jordan and Laurel made it into Loft ‘89! They told Taylor’s dad, Scott, about our family, which was so so sweet and kept looking for us to walk in. Although we didn’t get to meet Taylor, we had so much fun hanging out on Tumblr, meeting her biggest fans, and giving it our best shot! All of our Loft dreams aside, the concert was amazing and the anticipation and hanging out all day was the best! Until next time!
