Where do I start with this cutie?  She has had an awesome first year of school and made lots of new friends.  She’s reading so well and doing basic math problems accurately.  She went the entire year without getting her folder signed for bad behavior, which is really hard to do when you’re 6!  She’s such a great kid and we are so proud of her.  Here she is with one of her kinder buddies, Will.  Rose decided that she wanted to dress up for kinder awards too, lol!

Mrs. Lawless was such an amazing teacher!  Anna Kate was beyond lucky to have her!  She even knew her students favorite colors and made their locker signs accordingly.  It’s the little acts of caring that add up to mean so much to the kids!

Malia was really there for Anna Kate on the play ground when she needed a friend, and it helped me so much to know Malia had her back.  Campbell was another sweet friend that made Anna Kate’s days brighter!

I love seeing my girls proud of each other!  It’s such a great feeling to see your kids loving and cheering for each other—I know you know or can imagine!

Mrs. Lawless let them color and wear pretend cameras as necklaces, which Anna Kate loved, of course.  The class read a poem together, each kid had a line, and the first letters of each line spelled the word Kindergarten.  To top it off, Mrs. Lawless made a memory video, had breakfast for everyone, and gave each kid a book mark with their picture on it AND a scrapbook of their year together.  I was blown away!  So thankful for such an awesome first year for Anna Kate!

Anna Kate got special recognition because her Reflections project went on to district.  Go Anna Kate!  Look at her adorable facial expression!

Here’s my last picture with our kindergartener.  They grow up so much during their kindergarten year—it’s so bittersweet!  Anna Kate, you are such a sweet little girl with so much creativity (I love all of your inventions/machines) and kindness to share with the world.  You care about everyone’s feelings and always take up for the underdog.  I’m proud of you for standing up for what is right and making good choices this year.  I’m definitely impressed with how quickly you pick things up and all you’ve learned in kindergarten!  We are so proud you’re our Cutie Kate!  Keep being awesome!  Love you, angel baby!  ~Mommy

3rd Grade Awards

Noelle worked so hard this school year, and she got lots of awards to show for it!  The ones she worked the hardest for were the Accelerated Reader trophy and the all “A” honor roll.  To get the AR trophy, she had to meet reading goals the teacher set for her by taking tests and passing them with 80% or more all six of the six week school year.  She was reading constantly this year to earn enough points to reach her goal each six weeks.  Noelle also worked insanely hard for the all “A” honor roll!  3rd grade with the new Texas standards is beyond hard.  I couldn’t believe the work she was bringing home, actually.  She set out a goal for herself, and she did it, but it was not easy.  Several of the six weeks, I wanted her to relax and settle because it would’ve been less stressful for her, but she persevered and went for it!  These awards were all her, and she earned it!

Here Noelle is getting the AR trophy.  Mrs. Martin was an amazing teacher, and we were so thankful for her every single day this year!  Yay!

Noelle, I’m so proud of you for giving it your best and trying your hardest!  Most importantly, I’m proud of your loving and kind heart and always putting others before yourself, especially your family.  You are growing into such a beautiful young lady, and I’m so thankful for you always!  Now let’s go relax this summer!  You’ve earned it! Winking smile

May YOLO–Part 1

I absolutely love volunteering for the Girls Laugh program each spring for the graduating 4th graders at our girls’ school.  It’s all about building team work, self confidence, character, and the girls are all so very cute and sweet.

Rose got to be a mini volunteer this year!  She felt very special at each of our meetings!  And Happy 6th birthday, Avery!

At the girls’ school, they have a birthday hallway and Noelle’s birthday poster turned out so pretty this year!  Susie always sends me pictures of Malia and Anna Kate at lunch.  They are so cute!

MayFest was a super fun adventure this year!  It was our first year dancing there, and the littles did a great job!

Ed Sheeran posters I made for the concert IMG_1996

Mike and I had a blast going to the Ed Sheeran Multiply concert with Amy and Kyle.  I have been looking forward to this night all year, and it was even better than I had imagined.  He is an amazing musician, there’s just no other way to describe him.  The music he makes with his looper petal is unbelievable!

This was my first edit of a famous person’s photos, lol.  He’s genuinely a fun kid with lots of talent, and his music really speaks to me, so I guess you can call me a fan.  See our signs on his Instagram post?  Such fun memories!

Princess angel mermaid had a rough day!

These are my Mother’s Day presents from the girls this year.  The top left photo is a “play machine” made by Rose.  The orange marker on the paper is “a tomato that got run over by a car.”  She’s the craziest kid!  The bottom left is an afternoon snack made by Noelle.  She’s so sweet!  The right picture is binoculars Anna Kate made for me.  I wore them around my neck the entire day.  She’s so creative!

I love my sweet and thoughtful girls with all my heart!  I’m so blessed to be their mom and want to spend the rest of my life showing them how much I love and support them.  Life is so short, and I’m trying not to miss a thing.  They are growing up so quickly, and I never want to forget these times of simple love and gratitude.  They are our little angels!  Hope you all had a happy Mother’s Day celebrating all the sweet mothers in your life!
