Kinder Awards
June 11th, 2015
Where do I start with this cutie? She has had an awesome first year of school and made lots of new friends. She’s reading so well and doing basic math problems accurately. She went the entire year without getting her folder signed for bad behavior, which is really hard to do when you’re 6! She’s such a great kid and we are so proud of her. Here she is with one of her kinder buddies, Will. Rose decided that she wanted to dress up for kinder awards too, lol!
Mrs. Lawless was such an amazing teacher! Anna Kate was beyond lucky to have her! She even knew her students favorite colors and made their locker signs accordingly. It’s the little acts of caring that add up to mean so much to the kids!
Malia was really there for Anna Kate on the play ground when she needed a friend, and it helped me so much to know Malia had her back. Campbell was another sweet friend that made Anna Kate’s days brighter!
I love seeing my girls proud of each other! It’s such a great feeling to see your kids loving and cheering for each other—I know you know or can imagine!
Mrs. Lawless let them color and wear pretend cameras as necklaces, which Anna Kate loved, of course. The class read a poem together, each kid had a line, and the first letters of each line spelled the word Kindergarten. To top it off, Mrs. Lawless made a memory video, had breakfast for everyone, and gave each kid a book mark with their picture on it AND a scrapbook of their year together. I was blown away! So thankful for such an awesome first year for Anna Kate!
Anna Kate got special recognition because her Reflections project went on to district. Go Anna Kate! Look at her adorable facial expression!
Mrs. Lawless and her teacher’s helper, Mackenzie! Anna Kate also received the music award, which was so cool!
Here’s my last picture with our kindergartener. They grow up so much during their kindergarten year—it’s so bittersweet! Anna Kate, you are such a sweet little girl with so much creativity (I love all of your inventions/machines) and kindness to share with the world. You care about everyone’s feelings and always take up for the underdog. I’m proud of you for standing up for what is right and making good choices this year. I’m definitely impressed with how quickly you pick things up and all you’ve learned in kindergarten! We are so proud you’re our Cutie Kate! Keep being awesome! Love you, angel baby! ~Mommy
