Fort Worth Friday at the Stock yards!
September 28th, 2007
Poppa Doc came for the day to play with us!
We decided to go check out the Fort Worth Stockyards.
At 11:30 and 4:00 each day they have a cattle drive. “Here come the cattle!”
When Mike and I end up doing something that’s not as fun as we thought it would be we say, “Cool concept, poor execution.” Well, that was the case today – it was really boring to all three of us!
Hum…
Pretty much all it was was a bunch of lazy cattle trotting down the street as slowly as they could possibly go. At least we got a lot of laughs! And you can’t beat lunch at Joe T’s.
We had the most fun goofing off and playing make believe games at home while mommy did lots of laundry.
Goofy girl!
Thanks for coming to play with us Poppa Doc!
Visiting Brother Man on the Job!
September 28th, 2007
After a short nap in the car, we stopped by McCarthy to visit John while we were in the area.
The design room – Noelle showing John where the clock is
John’s office
These two are peas in a pod! I need to post some baby pics of John on here – you would be amazed – I think she looks more like John than her parents!
John’s model of their current building project in downtown Dallas.
Someone’s getting sleepy!
Brother Man is right where all the action is – we are so proud of all of the good work you are doing and the dedication you are putting into your job, John! We love you!
Dallas Arboretum

Noelle, Melissa, Avery, and Heather at the Arboretum!
Miss Elley on the pumpkins!
Avery, Noelle, and Jacob
Amidst the pumpkins, which Noelle was calling “Bawls” (balls) – she has such a southern accent.
“Here ya go!”
Busy Noelle and funny faces!
I let Avery hold Noelle’s treats and when she discovered this, well, note where her eyes are. She gave the treats a good stare down and then continued on her merry way – I was so proud of her for sharing!
Avery and Noelle enjoying treats while Olivia hangs out with the big girls!
Noelle always loves live music but was especially interested today
Noelle giving Jacob a flower
Playing chase
Avery was peeking her head around as if telling us to catch up – it was so cute we had to get a picture!
Hugs and kisses and then yucky – Noelle’s so funny!
Working on the farm…
Noelle has this crazy animal call anytime she spots an animal, even birds in the air. The ironic thing is this “animal call” used to attract animals really freaks them out and scares them away. In this pic, she is doing her animal-high-pitched-screechy-call.
Noelle absolutely loves animals!
Noelle had so much fun brushing the goats saying, “hair!”
Petting the rabbit while Mommy repeatedly said, “GENTLE!”
Avery watches while Noelle actually kisses the goat.
Chasing chickens
Brushing another goat
Hay Maze!
Worn out friends who had the time of their lives today!
Friday at the Highlands
September 24th, 2007
Mom and I bought Noelle’s little yellow Mexican dress at this store in Cozumel when we went on our family cruise. I was pregnant with Noelle at the time and dreamed about what she would look like running around in the souvenir we had just bought. Little donkey’s just a side-kick (“ba dum ching”)!
… and here she is!
Thanks Miss Molly for the ice cream!
Noelle sitting on her piano playing with her new favorite thing: clocks!
We are so thankful…
September 24th, 2007
Hey guys,
One of the great things about a blog is being able to share stories and life with everyone all at once. You feel like you are keeping up and staying close.
With that being said, we wanted to share a scare we had this weekend with you. I have always thought this could never possibly happen to us, but our home was contaminated with high levels of carbon monoxide from a running car in one of our next door neighbors’ garages.
We had been home for 3 hours when we received the call to get out. Noelle had thrown up, but I just thought she might have a tummy ache and went ahead and put her to sleep. We were asleep as well. We called the fire department and after they measured the levels of carbon monoxide in our home, told us to immediately go to the emergency room.
We spent Saturday night in the hospital for blood testing and observation because they did find elevated levels of CO in our blood.
All that is to say, PLEASE go buy a $30.00 carbon monoxide detector for your home. You can’t smell carbon monoxide, so it is extremely dangerous. It is the number ONE cause of accidental death in our country! You can never be too safe when it comes to the safety of your family.
That’s all we want to say about that, so we’d appreciate our privacy about the details. We are putting this experience behind us and are so thankful to be alive. The human experience is such a gift, and we have so much good left to do.
Noelle update: She is her little old happy self! The hospital was more fun than you could ever imagine. Her new favorite word is, “Clock” pronounced “claw.” Do you know how many clocks and dials and machines that look like clocks there are in a hospital? She said hi to each nurse and doctor and then pointed to tell them where the clock was and then the light (pronounced lie). She got so many stickers and a home made little doll the hospital ladies made. The nurses walked us out and carried Noelle to the car. She didn’t go to sleep a wink. She’s the best thing in our world and she is 100% okay, with absolutely no long term effects!

"Kitty Kitty – Meow!"
September 20th, 2007
Noelle pointing to Cheney’s eye and telling us all about it.
Noelle’s favorite thing in the whole wide world right now are kitties. She loves them all and says meow in the sweetest little voice all day long. Cheney, Heather’s kitty, is such a good sport!
Journal entry to Noelle:
Today we went to take pictures, and they were getting our info at the front desk. You started screaming, “Ki, Ki, MEOW, MEOW!” I looked where you were pointing and at the top of the wall was a huge picture of a kitty. Everyone in the store started laughing. The whole time we were in there you had to go point at the kitty and say meow. Heather has a cat named Cheney who you play with next door. When we let you down to play in the front, you immediately walk from our garage to their front door saying, “Kitty, meow,” the entire way. I think kitties are your very favorite thing in the whole wide world right now. You love to let her whiskers tickle you (you think she is doing it on purpose). You give her kisses on the nose and big hugs around her neck, while you “ticky ticky” her soft fur. It’s the sweetest thing in the world. Daddy and I bought you two little stuffed kitties at the store and you walk by them and pet them saying, “Awww…” Mommy and Daddy love your compassionate little heart. You take such good care of your kitties.
