John and Inez Brock
January 8th, 2006
On December 27th, Mike and I traveled with his family to Wichita Falls to visit his Gran, Inez, and her husband, John. Inez and John were next door neighbors and over time, fell in love and got married. They are the cutest couple – so fun and relaxed. They eat at Picadilly Cafeteria EVERY day, so that is where we ate lunch; it was so cool – they love John and Inez so much there! This was the first time I have ever met Inez. Noelle’s middle name is Elizabeth, just like her great grandmother, Inez Elizabeth.
Inez has a genuine love and relationship with Jesus Christ. She spoke of him as a dear friend, so naturally, as someone sharing of a special loved one. She explained to us that she became a follower of Christ when she was walking to school one day when the hymn, “In the Garden” popped into her head. She quoted with hands swinging, “I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses; and the voice I hear, falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses. And He walks with me and He talks wit h me, and He tells me I am his own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.” She said it was in that moment she knew she belonged to God. I so enjoyed hearing her share the wonders of her past and her heart with us. Plus, she is remarkably funny and quite a character! I love her so much and feel so blessed to call her and John family.
