JUNE iPhone YOLO
July 31st, 2015
June is for family walks and making houses for June bugs! June also means swimming all day ‘err day!
We celebrated Malia’s birthday the first week of June and kicked off the summer with our neighborhood end of school party!
We had so much fun hosting our first ever lemonade stand. All these cuties live on our street, and we are just the luckiest buddies in the world to have such awesome neighbors!
I found this “alchoul” bottle on the kitchen table and was soooo confused. I asked the girls, “What in the world?” and soon found out it was a prop for Mrs. Hannigan when they were acting out “Annie!” I love giving our girls time to create their own fun in the summer time—helps them think outside the box!
I did talk the girls into one music camp in June, which they absolutely loved, but after that, they begged me to let them get bored, which I think we’ve managed to accomplish.
Noelle taped 6 pieces of paper together to make Mike the sweetest Father’s Day card of all time that she hung on our mantle on Father’s Day this year!
Anna Kate always invents the most clever inventions and costumes while she works and if we are home, Rose will always be in her pjs. The second we walk through the back door, she’s in her closet changing into pjs. I never want to forget these day to day memories. Oh, and how do you like Mike’s pack job for our Florida trip? I love that my man packs his own bags and does it so that nothing wrinkles or gets lost. He’s the best!
On the way to Florida, I made my first handmade wildflower crown from wild flowers I picked on the side of the road. It took several hours (which I had) and was great fun!
Rose fell asleep for a good bit of the drive to Florida this year. I’m glad she was comfortable!
Once we arrived in Florida, Nancy, Noelle and I headed to Sam’s to buy food for the week. This was my very first ever selfie stick picture. I wish I had a video of us trying to figure it out and take it. It was pretty hilarious! I told Nancy we looked so cool (hahaha) but it was all she could do to stay put. We had so much fun goofing off and making our grocery run fun!
Crab hunting late at night was so much fun! We loved hanging out on the beach at night, just walking around and feeling the beauty all around us with all of our senses. Loved our brownie sundae with crackled chocolate… definitely a vacation food favorite!
The kids cove in our condo—made for super fun nights for the kiddos!
Cinnabon cinnamon rolls from Sam’s were another vacation food favorite! Seriously yummy. If you have company or just want an extra special morning treat, these are it!
All packed up and ready to make the long drive back to Texas. What a fun summer vacation! We’ll miss the beach so much!
Noelle loves making smoothies, and she’s really good at it! I loved this metal artwork on a local Starbucks so much, that I had to take a picture in the drive thru!
This was the second time this summer we’ve gotten free dessert for being sweet to our waiter when they took too long to bring our food. So cool!
Breakfast in bed made with love by Noelley (yet again)! What a sweetheart!
Mommy ran out of make-up, so…
Lots of fun summer sleepovers for Noelle and a super fun (quick) trip to Jacksonville for my parents’ retirement party. The girls know we’ve made it to Jacksonville when they start seeing tomatoes everywhere. Jacksonville is the tomato capital of the world, for those of you who aren’t local. Their high school football stadium is called the “Tomato Bowl.” Jacksonville is a really cute little town in East Texas.
Dinner with our baby. I’ve been really intentional about organizing and taking the girls on one-on-one dates with both Mike and me this summer. It’s worked out great and been so special! I definitely recommend it to any family with multiple kids. It’s so awesome seeing them light up and bask in our undivided attention. Love these girlies with everything!
