January YOLO

February 28th, 2016

IMG_0133 IMG_0167

Keepin’ my one month behind in check… I’m wondering if I’ll catch up or give up first, lol! Great Wolf Lodge 2016 was a blast!

IMG_0912 IMG_0229

We adore baby Hutson and had a blast celebrating him at his first birthday!

IMG_0228 IMG_0227

IMG_0298 IMG_0304

Anna Kate was finally ready to get her ears pierced. We pierced Noelle’s in first grade as well. Now Rose is begging to get hers pierced, and we’re thinking about it. The main hesitation is that I don’t have time to clean anything else right now, lol! Speaking of Rose, she made me this super appetizing play-doh breakfast one winter morning. So sweet!

IMG_0182 IMG_0307

Noelle loves eating her oatmeal with cranberries and strawberries, and Mike Pond is awesome!

IMG_0309 IMG_0311

Yummy!

IMG_0319IMG_0541

Noelle trying out a new way of waving her hair, as always. She has a lot of talent, especially for being only 9 years old! I would never have the patience to do this to my entire head of hair. She amazes me! For Rose’s 5th birthday present, she got an American Girl doll. She was super cute and excited to bring her baby home.

IMG_0532 IMG_0488

The girls were so excited to hang out with Kara! Here’s the neighborhood crew one day after early release. Who can spot the lizards???

IMG_0484 IMG_0490

Love these crazy kids!

IMG_0646 IMG_0604

Rose with her new baby, she named Emma, and Noelle dressed up as Bubbles from one of Rose’s favorite cartoons, Power Puff Girls. Rose acted like Noelle was famous and was asking her all kinds of questions about the show. It was so cute! Rose even wanted “Bubbles’” autograph.

IMG_8405 IMG_0622

Rose is still crazy about Rainbow Dash and all of the My Little Ponies! We spent much of January switching out our beds and updating our bedrooms. The girls had a blast at furniture stores and especially the ones with adjustable mattresses!

IMG_0633 IMG_0638

Noelle and I are always up to no good! Winking smile

IMG_0711 IMG_0658

Noelle made this awesome snowflake for Uncle Jim! Rose has to do a different letter collage for “homework” each week at preschool. I thought this one turned out really cute!

IMG_0755 IMG_0776

More furniture shopping!

IMG_8441 IMG_0785

Rose had a blast at rodeo day, which she called, “cowgirl day” at school this winter! Here she is insisting a classmate needed a goodbye kiss from her pony at the end of the day, lol!

IMG_0789 IMG_0836

Lucy and Harper make the best preschool buddies!

IMG_0800 IMG_0805

Rose with her Twilight Sparkle. She wished for this pony from her birthday last year (Feb. 15) until she finally got her this Christmas. She never whined or complained that it wasn’t an instant gratification request and worked hard throughout the year earning her pony with roller skates piece by piece. I think that makes the girls appreciate what they have even more when they work hard to earn them and aren’t just handed things, and her hard work all paid off on Christmas morning!

IMG_0820 IMG_0935

Anna Kate was assigned the monarch butterfly for her 1st grade Texas Symbols project. Noelle was assigned the monarch too when she was in 1st grade! We did a symmetry art project this time so Anna Kate could see how both sides are exactly the same. After we outlined the right side of the butterfly, she squeezed the page together spreading out the paint and creating the left wing at the same time. She loved it and has been making lots of symmetry art this winter! A ladybug is an easy subject to start with if you want to give it a try with your kiddo!

IMG_0862

Ava’s nebula/space 10th birthday party was out of this world! The girls had a blast making nebulas and getting their faces painted with glow-in the-dark face paint.

IMG_0852

Such a creative party!

IMG_0669 IMG_0816

Looking forward to lots of purple lights and confetti in April!!! Any guesses who this singer is? Our baby boy is a mover and a shaker! He’s so so busy! This was my favorite picture taken from his 19 week sonogram.

IMG_0821

Love this!

IMG_0884 IMG_0882

Anna Kate and I are finally on the last book in the Little House on the Prairie trilogy. The Ingalls family had to move across country because they accidentally settled in Indian Territory the first time. They traded most of what they had for land that already had a dugout existing on it. When Laura described it as a house built into the land with grass on top of the roof, we definitely had to look up a picture of what one looked like in real life. Love finding things that interest each child and spending time with them learning new things!

Periwinkle with a Purpose

February 19th, 2016

IMG_8411 IMG_8421

We wear periwinkle in recognition of our Uncle Jim who is battling Esophageal cancer (periwinkle is the ribbon color for that type of cancer). It has been brutal on him and our Aunt Joe. They are on the front lines of battle right now, and our entire family is rallying behind them in hopes of a big victory. All our love, thoughts and prayers go out to our amazing Aunt Joe and Uncle Jim today!

Noelle loves to dress up her little sisters, and they love it too! It keeps them entertained for hours, and the reveal is always so much fun! I love the way Noelle did both of their hair tonight. Rose’s looked exactly like Belle’s from the front and the back. I copied this hairstyle she did on Anna Kate tonight for the Daddy/Daughter Valentine’s dance. She’s so creative and loves to make them feel pampered and special. I’m so proud of these girls!

IMG_8714

Happy 5th birthday, sweet baby Rose! You bring the best into every day and make our lives so fun and entertaining. You are gentle and kind, crazy and fierce! We are absolutely head over heels in love with you!!! This blog is definitely not instant like IG. So many more pictures to share from your special celebration if your Mommy can ever get caught up. Lots of love forever and ever! xo

December YOLO

February 8th, 2016

IMG_7237 IMG_9214

The girls and I had fun window shopping this Christmas season! Here’s baby boy and me at 10 weeks! We’re now 21 weeks… moving right along!

IMG_7122

The big girls did an awesome job at their winter dance recital!

IMG_7133 IMG_7233

IMG_9088IMG_9157

Taylor is back! We sure do love Santa and Mrs. Claus!

IMG_0198 IMG_0200

Noelle’s first solo gingerbread house was pretty impressive if you ask me! At only 9 years old, she’s such a perfectionist!

IMG_9241 IMG_9239

A group of my girlfriends had a favorite things party where we each brought our favorite things to exchange with each other for Christmas! It was so much fun, and I’ve been enjoying our little gifts so much!

Noelle made this little hologram by gluing four pieces of an old CD case together (that she cracked down to size) and setting it on top of her iPad. The four butterflies around the outside are flat on her iPad screen, and the one in the middle that looks like it’s flying is a reflection of the ones on the screen. I love when my kids bring me stuff like this that they figured out from tutorials without any help! Oh, and the song is off a really old Ed Sheeran album (Loose Change) called Little Bird. It’s been a favorite of mine for years!

IMG_9245 IMG_9248

Noelle has a blast doing her hair! One day, she tried out the pin curl curling method from a YouTube tutorial. It turned out so great! I’m always proud of her for being creative with her time and trying new things!

IMG_9267

Some of our friends got together and made care packages for local ambulance teams to hand out to the homeless this winter.

IMG_9272

They wrote little notes to put in each care package before we zipped them up. Rose was working so hard on her little note of encouragement!

IMG_9273

Service projects and togetherness are two of my very favorite things! So thankful for caring friends who coordinate ways for our girls to give back.

IMG_9276

All ready to go! I love the note entitled, “Friend….” That’s what it’s all about!

IMG_9291 IMG_9288

Poppa came to town to get his car worked on, and Rose and I got to go out to lunch with him… definitely a treat!

IMG_9289 IMG_9494

We had a late autumn this year! Playing with leaves in December was a ton of fun!

IMG_9298 IMG_9319

Love watching these girls dance each week! After class one day, we went to the aquarium and fell in love with this pearl scale angel fish. Unfortunately, he needs a really big tank and has to be social with lots of other fish, or we might have had to take him home with us!

IMG_9334 IMG_9216

Rose’s teacher asked 3 things she was thankful for and wrote them down on her feathers. She said, “My family, my school, and my whole world!” She’s so sweet! Here’s an outfit she laid out for school one day. 4 year olds have the best style, lol!

IMG_6904 IMG_9337

I love helping out with Noelle’s leadership group. These girls are not only leaders, but the sweetest little ladies!

IMG_9382 IMG_9394

Anna Kate and Brylee had a blast together on their 1st grade field trip, and I did too!

IMG_9402 IMG_9422

We had the best Mediterranean buffet lunch the day of the field trip! Sydney and Anna Kate are so cute!

IMG_9532 IMG_9484

After school yogurt date with Ava and Eden! We had fun shopping for angel tree kids with Noelle’s leadership group. It was so awesome to see them totally excited about coordinating outfits and toys for someone they didn’t even know. Giving feels so much better than receiving, and I’m so thankful our girls are figuring that out through life experiences. We’re all in this together.

IMG_9452

Every single time we go to Target, this platform has to be used as a stage. At their first mention of climbing on, I think, we don’t have time, then I stop myself with the thought, this is what time is for!

IMG_9525

Noelle’s 4th grade hopes and dreams list. She’s so beautiful, inside and out!

IMG_9536 IMG_9577

Hey Taylor! What ya doin?

IMG_9508  IMG_9958

This happened the majority of days in December, but my little elf on the right always fixed it during the day!

IMG_9555

Mike is always teaching Noelle new concepts and ideas every time I turn around. They are best buddies!

IMG_9612

Happy 5th birthday, Katie!

IMG_9614

IMG_9193IMG_9623

I love this picture of the big girls knocked out, and Rose still going strong! Poor Noelle got cold and had to borrow Anna Kate’s jacket.

IMG_9628 IMG_9629

Noelle’s only Christmas wish was to meet Miranda Sings (Colleen Evans). Little did she know, we had already bought her a meet and greet ticket two months ago. Although we ended up not actually getting to meet Colleen after all (the meet and greet time was not on the ticket or in the confirmation email, so we assumed it was after the concert, but it was in fact hours before the concert but there was no way for us to have known, boo!), we had such a fun night and more on that to come!

IMG_0792 IMG_9633

Happy birthday to me! A new Star Wars era has begun!

IMG_9637 IMG_9659

Our favorite dessert in the whole wide world: The Chocolate Thunder from Down Under at Outback! The picture on the right is one of Rose’s Christmas present boxes, all things she wished for. I love that kid!

IMG_9671 OFQY8385

Christmas present scenes created by our little cuties! The Porterhouse in Hot Springs on Christmas Eve was perfect!

IMG_9761

Merry Christmas!

IMG_7532 IMG_9748

Walking through Garvan Woodland Gardens on Christmas Eve. Here’s part of the fall scene and then the gingerbread house is part of the winter section. So cool!

Christmas Eve stroll in the gardens. I had a feeling we were going to have a boy in this moment when I saw all of our sweet little girls surrounded by blue. When we got back to the hotel, and I was making this video, Mariah’s song “All I Want For Christmas” kept coming to my head and I thought, I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl, but all I want for Christmas this year is our healthy baby amongst these girls, so it just fit! This night will always remain one of my strongest life memories! For once, my intuition was right!

IMG_9713 IMG_9734

IMG_0270 IMG_9834

Our hotel was over 90 years old and every bit as charming! It was built only 10 years after the Titanic, and the girls are so interested in that right now, so they kept pretending we were on the Titanic. We had fun and made lots of memories going outside of the box with our trip!

IMG_9779

Our Christmas lunch buffet was incredible. Every single course was the best of that course we’ve ever had. It was all so delicious and appetizing! I keep dreaming about those huge shrimp and the homemade cocktail sauce! I enjoyed the main course too much for pictures, but here’s the first course, a few pictures from the appetizer bar, and then dessert. The dessert table had at least 20 pies and cakes, along with a fresh hot donut bar. We had fun with that!

IMG_9782

IMG_9781

IMG_9783

IMG_9787

There was a piano player in the dining room and all the waiters had fancy uniforms on and the girls kept saying lines from meals on the Titanic while we were eating. It was the cutest thing. It did feel like we were on a big fancy old timey ship!

IMG_9988 IMG_9795

IMG_9820 IMG_9827

We went exploring in our pjs one night. We didn’t mean to go outside, but one thing led to another, and it wasn’t cold at all. We were having fun!

IMG_9832

In the lobby of the Arlington, was this huge gingerbread house, built with real gingerbread, icing and candy. The girls kept wanting to eat it!

IMG_9831

Here’s the back of the gingerbread house, complete with scenes in each room of the house. The girls absolutely loved it! We spent a lot of time looking at it!

IMG_9829 IMG_7640

IMG_0805

Poppa and Mike had a fun time at the brewery!

IMG_9871 IMG_9877

We shared a joining room with Poppa and Rara. Check out how old the door is! From the upstairs floors, the picture on the right is what the letter drop box looked like. We dropped messages that floated down through the see through tube before we realized it was a working USPS mailbox. Oops!

IMG_9880 IMG_9881

If you go to Hot Springs, The Pancake House is a must! Yummy! Our waitress has written and illustrated several books that are for sale on Amazon. We bought one right there in the restaurant about girl power called “Runs Like A Girl!” It’s so cute! Hot Springs is such a personable, charming little city. We had fun hanging out with everyone!

IMG_9809 IMG_9887

We had fun Facetiming these Cali cuties on Christmas day! Greg is still in Denver recovering from his accident. He’s recently had some leg movement, and we are so excited about that! Before heading home from Hot Springs, we stopped by Fat Bottomed Girl’s and got cupcakes for our drive home. Their store/cupcakes were featured on Cupcake Wars last year, so we had fun trying them out!

IMG_7648 IMG_9891

Creepy hand smears on a window from a creepy building we walked past downtown, and Mike fully charged and ready to tackle what would be our tornado-filled ride home!

IMG_7664 IMG_9892

One side of the street downtown was directly next to a chiseled out mountain. I was so interested in that because I’d never seen anything like it before! One of the back walls of a restaurant we went to was actually the mountain. We had to stop in hotel lobbies several times on the way home to avoid major storm cells. I’m glad we did, because 7 people died that night on the highways we were traveling on because their cars got blown off the road from tornados. We take weather risks very seriously after a couple of close calls. It took us forever to get home, but we were happy to wait it out! My best friend from high school was driving home from Colorado, and we never get to talk/text, so we hung out all day, checking in with each other. Rose was really scared. We kept having to tell her we were keeping her safe. She was so cute!

IMG_9913 IMG_9922

More slow winter break days when we got home from our trip… lots of time to create new things! Anna Kate made an answer box, so if you have a question, you just write it down and put it in the slit on the side of the box and your answer will pop back out at you! She’s hilarious and always full of big ideas to try! And Rose is just a hot mess, all day, every day!

IMG_9930 IMG_9936

Friends and fruit kabobs!

IMG_9970

Rose had a blast at Cerly’s paint party. She took her drawing very seriously. I was impressed. She even wanted to add some finishing touches at home. Who knew? Cool, baby Rose!

IMG_9979

Go little artists and happy 5th birthday, Cerly!

Fun on New Year’s Eve!

IMG_9949  IMG_9950

I read this information in December, and it was a good reminder to pack boosters and have extras for friends. We usually do, but every once in a while, we slip up. If a kid tells me, “Oh, I don’t have to have a booster” I always just go with it, but ultimately, if they get hurt, it’s on me, so unless you’re 4’9” and in my car, boosters for everyone!

 IMG_0019

This is how we do, yeah, chillin’ laid back! Thanks for the picture, Jon! And that’s a wrap!

Brylee’s 7th Birthday!
