Mrs. Paula had all her pre-k kids over to swim last weekend. Anna Kate starts preschool the first day of Noelle’s school at the end of August. She’s going two days a week and talks about it all the time! She’s going to LOVE it so much… after Mike and I left the interview with Mrs. Paula we were both like, “Can we come too?” It’s incredible! Neatest place I’ve ever seen with such creative activities and positive attitudes everywhere. I’m so excited for her!!!

Mrs. Paula set up kid table and chairs in her back yard, and the girls loved that. It’s all about the kids, and she knows how to add the smallest touches to make them feel so special!

Rose got sick this week (more on that later), so she and Mike stayed home while the big girls and I got to have a date. We are enjoying summer so much and truly don’t want it to end!!!

Mrs. Paula has a creek running through her back yard behind her awesome swing set. Her back yard is full of nature (and creatures)! It’s a little forest right here in the middle of the big city!

We got to watch this beautiful egret search for food in the creek until it slowly flew upstream.

Anna Kate already calls this “her bridge.” I wish I could be a fly on the wall over the next two years of her pre-k journey as her adventures unfold on this bridge!

Mrs. Paula thinks of everything! Anna Kate is already begging to go to school!

You never know what you might find in Mrs. Paula’s back yard… and her salt water pool was a hit with the girls! Anna Kate is so precious and content on the stairs. I appreciate her just the way she likes it… it’s so much easier to watch her and keep her safe at this age. She’s always been easy like that, which made our choice to have 3 really easy.

Anna Kate and Noelle were enjoying Mrs. Paula’s back yard so much! Noelle said, “I wish I could’ve gone to a pre-school this cool!” I said, “I do too!!!” We just didn’t know about it. One of my friends who has grade-school kids now mentioned this to me as an option when she saw me struggling to get all the babies in the car to go pick up Noelle from art class back in June. I told her I didn’t have it in me to lug all that stuff up to school and back twice a week, and she told me about Mrs. Paula, her awesome warm meals for the kids, snacks, scrapbooks she gives the kids of their adventures, field trips, and how everything stays at her house… no more lugging nap mats and lunch boxes with baby in tow… we were sold!

I love watching Anna Kate make new friends! She starts up conversation really well for a 3 year old. She’s great!

The kids get to pick produce from Mrs. Paula’s garden for lunch… when we took our tour, the kids were familiar with lining up to try new herbs, etc. She lets them help her grow everything and then eat it too!

She has these little wooden blocks in the play house (so simple) and she said the kids’ imaginations run wild with them. She said they play like they are cell phones, plates… all sorts of things. They go “puddle jumping” on rainy days, color in their journals outside on sunny days and on and on! Do you see why Anna Kate keeps asking me if it’s time to go to school yet?

Noelle had fun meeting new friends at the swim party too… here’s her new friend, Anna. They had a blast swimming together. Noelle is super friendly too but more reserved (at first) than Anna Kate. Once she gets to talking, she’s fine, but she likes for me to introduce her to new friends.

I’m so proud of Noelle’s progress in the pool this summer. She’s a little fish now! Yay!

Anna Kate just fit right in and had so much fun tonight! Mrs. Paula, on the right, is from Australia and has the most beautiful accent! Anna Kate will hang on her every word, I’m sure!

Mrs. Paula grabbed my camera and started taking pictures when I finally convinced Anna Kate to come off the stairs and do a little kicking. We were so proud of her… you can see that she was proud too! The first of many new feats here with Mrs. Paula and friends!
