Camp Thurman
August 7th, 2011
Last weekend we went to Mike’s Camp Thurman counselor reunion. We had a great day all as a family at camp!
Devon “Cheeseball” went with us! When you drive up, the fence says, “You’re a Big Deal!” Pretty cool!
We started the day exploring in the woods!
After the little zip line, Noelle was ready for the big one…
But I wasn’t. When I visited Mike at camp in college and did the zipline, I told him (10 years ago) I would NEVER do that again… and here I am! I did it for Noelle.
I was in my cover-up because all I was prepared to do was swim all day…
Before we zipped, I heard Noelle saying to herself at the top of the tower, “Face my fears… face my fears…” Who knew she was so brave!?! Last summer she wouldn’t even jump off the side of the swimming pool!
All I can say is she looked so little flying through the air!
This was at the bottom of the zip, still high but much lower!
Poor Anna Kate just doesn’t get it. She thought we fell and was so upset! Bless.her.heart!
Yay! We did it!
This sign is a saying that brought back great memories to the gang!
I can’t get enough of you baby!
This is Devon and Noelle at her old camp tent. We had a great day reminiscing! Here are the girls giving their parents the thumbs up in front of a sign that says, “Jesus died on the cross for all my timeouts!”
The girls even got their face painted… it was the best day ever!
Poppa and Rara were at a hospital conference and got to stop by on their way home!
And Noelle begged and begged to zip just one more time… so it was Nacho’s turn to face his fears! Lol!
Rose got up on all fours this week… I can’t believe she will be crawling soon!
Anna Kate had fun playing in the woods… the trees made her look really small too! God is good (all the time) just like the sign says! And after a long hot day of fun, we ended up in the new pool with 6 great slides to finish off the day!
After we got all changed, we came home and crashed! This made for such a great weekend to finish out July!
Peek at our week
August 5th, 2011
We had a slow week around here! It is SO hot in Texas right now, that I haven’t wanted to get the girls out in the sun too much. We had several pj/craft days, and I got caught up around the house. It was nice, and the girls really enjoyed having some down time.
Tuesday we went to Music in Motion (Music in Ocean as Anna Kate calls it)… the girls have absolutely loved that activity this summer, and Mommy gets to visit with her friends! It’s a music and dance time at one of the local churches – fun cool play time!
I am amazed at how mature and responsible Noelle is getting. She is helping me so much, and it really means a lot to me! She is such a good big sister!
Noelle thought Rose didn’t look “fancy enough” in her Bumbo seat, so she took the rings Rose was playing with and made her a crown… such a Noelle thing to do!
After a while, Rose starting digging the attention… somehow they just know when they look cute and really ham it up for ya!
So Noelle saw me taking pictures and ran to get her camera too! They were having a really sweet moment playing together.
The Ebert family sent the girls flowers and necklaces from Hawaii… they were so excited to open their package after dinner – thanks guys! (we had spaghetti, so that is why Anna Kate is naked… she has turned into one very messy two year old!!!)
Rose is starting to enjoy all of our baby gidgets and gadgets!
I am so happy that she is so happy – yay for us! ![]()
And that was a little peek at our week! Have a good weekend!
Our friendship in pictures
August 3rd, 2011
These pictures of Noelle and Bailey growing up together bring back so many wonderful memories! I’ll let you see for yourself how amazing their little friendship is!
Words can’t describe how special this little friendship is, but these pictures throughout their lives capture the joy they have had being together.
Thanks for the memories!!!
We’ll miss you Christian family!

Today the moving truck pulls away from Keller and our dear friends, Scott, Amanda, Bailey and Sadie are moving to Georgia! Our hearts are aching, but we are so excited for this new chapter in their lives!!!
Noelle was putting together this puzzle a couple of weeks ago. I came back in the room to check on her, and she had written the word “LOVE” over Georgia. This is going to be so hard!
We’ll miss you Christian family!!! (until Christmas…)
Week at a Glance
August 2nd, 2011
We were very busy last week… here are some of the highlights!
Noelle’s cheer camp got cancelled, but we had fun the first day! ![]()
Noelle and Chloe have had fun playing together this summer!
At Chick-fil-A, this amazing man spoke truth into my life! As I was juggling getting all of the girls fed, he looked me straight in the eye and said, “Enjoy this. You are living the best years of your life!” It was such a wonderful reminder and came at just the right time!!!
My goofy middle!
The girls asked me to take pics of them after shower time one night – they’re funny!
And this made my day on Friday! Perfectly random, and a great way to kick off the weekend – lol!
