Stars Playoff Game!
May 15th, 2008
We had such a blast at the Dallas Stars playoff game last night! This was our first professional hockey game and a great first to see. It’s so amazing to see the game in person.
Mike and Noelle in front of Victory Plaza in downtown Dallas! Noelle pointed to the screen and said, "Hi Pete!" (He’s a local weather forecaster, and Jon has been working with Noelle on that one!)
Wow! What a devoted fan! The AA center was chilly throughout the game (it felt so good)!
Crazy motorcycle show outside before the game!
Introducing the Stars – Everyone screamed "Stars" really loudly every time the word "star" was sung in the Star-Spangled Banner – Noelle loved that!
Check out those eyes!!! The funniest thing happened right about now… there was this obnoxious fan behind us who was annoying everyone. Noelle finally put her hands in fists and screamed "Nooo!" right at him. We were all cracking up!!! What kids can do that you only wish you could pull off! Let’s just say Mike and I didn’t stop her!
Ever wonder where the hockey cheerleaders stand?
Noelle loved the rally towels and eventually snuggled in our laps with her baby. She absolutely loved the game and all the music!
Noelle asked me to take this picture!
When Noelle saw this picture on the screen, she said, "Noelle funny!"
Con"GRAD"ulations, Brittany!
May 13th, 2008
We threw our cousin, Brittany, a graduation luncheon this weekend. Our four course meal was fantastic (if I do say so myself), and the girls had so much fun together! Brittany and Randi Rae (right pic) are going to be roommates next year at A&M.
Brittany’s table… everything came together so well. If you know Brittany, she’s a neon girl, so this table was designed just for her, and she LOVED it! YAY!
Brittany’s cake and key chain party favors.
The girls arrived, made smoothies, and enjoyed appetizers on the patio.
Linda (Nana) with Noelle and Brittany – what a special day for them to share!
Mom, Noelle, Brittany, myself, Aunt Joe, and Linda.
After hiding her party shoes, someone took off her second pair of shoes while I was taking pictures of the girls, but to be honest, I don’t blame her one bit! It’s a special treat being in East Texas.
Mom, Aunt Joe, and I were the servers for the meal. I was working so hard trying to remember each rule – serve right, pick up left, let the guest know you are present before refilling drink, it was a lot of work, but I had so much fun, and the girls were laughing and carrying on – it was just perfect!
Mom made a toast for Brittany which brought us to tears.
Brittany taught Noelle how to take a picture of me taking a picture of her.
Noelle was star struck by Brittany and her friends! She was in heaven!
Brittany, you mean so much to all of us! You have been such a joy to watch grow up, and you are such a beautiful person, inside and out. We love you, and we are so proud of you!
Happy Birthday, Aunt Joe!
May 12th, 2008
We celebrated Aunt Joe’s birthday with her on Friday night. She is the most wonderful person in the whole wide world, and we are blessed to have her in our lives!
Many happy returns of the day!
Uncle Jim is so funny!
Mommy said, "You can pick just one!"
These last two pictures pretty much sum up our week!
Happy Mother’s Day!
May 11th, 2008
We got to spend breakfast with Poppa & Rara and dinner with GranPapa, MommaKay, Stephen, & Grandma. It was a wonderful day of celebrating, and we wish our Moms a Happy Day!
"No Doctor, Mommy, I scared!"
May 9th, 2008
Dr. Fikkert is the best pediatrician in the world! We love her so much, and she is so good with Noelle. Noelle remembered her last visit (the shots) and as soon as we pulled in the parking lot on Wednesday for her 2 year check-up she said, "No Doctor, Mommy, I scared!"
I’ve never taken pictures at the doctor’s office because I’ve always been so focused on all my questions, but I’m feeling more confident now that she is getting older, so I thought I would capture a visit for Noelle to enjoy one day. Noelle got lots of great prizes for being such a big girl!
Dr. Fikkert and her partners have such a fun office! The waiting room has all the fairy tales painted on the walls, and the rooms each have a different theme. Noelle’s 2 year stats: 24.6 lbs (25th percentile) and 34" tall (50th percentile). She had her first ear infection (who knew?) but other than that, all is well!
After a good long nap, we met the Ponds for a great dinner.
Noelle goofing off and playing with her "whistle lips" prize from the doctor!
The Last Hoorah!

Two more candles and one big bite!
I thought it would be fun to do a little mid-week party for our Euc community in celebration of Noelle’s birthday week. Everyone at church loves Noelle so much, and we are so blessed!

Great day of Hope!
May 8th, 2008
Hadley, Noelle, Bryell, and Hannah after Mops on Tuesday. Hadley and Hannah’s mom, Renya, came to speak to our group about prison ministry. She had to go to prison when Hadley was only 6 weeks old. She shared her story of devastation to hope. My mentor mom, Lyn, is deeply invested in prison ministry. She was the one who loved Renya while she was in jail and shared with her how to experience God’s grace. This changed her life forever and gave these precious girls a future of promise with a new Mommy. The entire room was in tears, and I see prison ministry in a whole different light now. She said, "Many of the women in prison are moms just like you, who have committed crimes with one thing in mind: providing for their children." (90% of women in prison are single mothers.) They need to learn skills and be reintroduced to a society who wants to see them be successful in a healthy and productive way. I am going with Lyn to do Bible studies with women in prison this summer. I can’t wait to visit and get to know these moms and tell them we are all here for them and believe they can overcome!

Cute girls!
Noelle and Jillian
When we got home, I caught Noelle turning the pages of her book with her foot. I started laughing at her, which encouraged her to ham it up even more. She is soooo funny!!!
